HISTORY
"Body, neck, and hardware are from an 80s Squier Bullet.
Built for Gang of Four performances. I never associated Andy Gill's tone to anything but a single coil bridge pickup--no need for any other pickup positions or combinations. So I got the most powerful I could find, at a whopping 25.46k!
For live use, I knew I wanted a minimal amount of controls, as much output as possible, and zero hum. Usually you'll see single pickup / volume Strats with a humbucker ala EVH. Other than the Fender Bronco, I never see guitars with a lone single coil, so I had a pickguard cut from Decoboom to put one together.
It wasn't until after two years of playing with Gang of Four before I found the perfect pickup, and of course it's made by Dimarzio! Compared to my highest output Gibson-style guitars, it's the only single coil-sized Strat pickup in the same stratosphere.
I kept most of the original Bullet hardware. The kill switch is the best I've used. Doesn't click or pop at all, fast and soft. Even without my specs, I can't miss it."
